(Senior) Credit Origination Manager

The purpose of the function is to work closely with the Private Bankers on the development and set up of credit solutions for our clients; you and the team are responsible for the management and growth of the credit portfolio. The experienced credit professional will be working within the commercial team on complex credit requests for important clients. The first line of defense (risk) will be an important responsibility as well.


Main responsibilities


  • Manages external (clients and prospects) and internal (Private Bankers) commercial relationships. Negotiate and structure suitable credit solutions with clients, prospects and Private Bankers.
  • Provide guidance on the Bank’s Credit Policy. Be able to fully analyze client credit opportunities.  Submit high quality proposals to the Credit Committees based on a thorough commercial and risk assessment.
  • Work closely with Private Bankers, Wealth Planners, Credit and Risk department as a trusted partner to propose appropriate credit solutions to Puilaetco Dewaay’s clients and prospects.
  • Be accountable for the client request until decision making and client signature.
  • As an ambassador, be accountable and fully committed to the growth of the credit activity within the Bank.

Education, qualification and/or work experience requirements


  • An in-depth knowledge of credit risk
  • Master’s degree in Finance or business-related field (or equivalent by experience)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a (senior) credit officer role / in a financial function. 

Skills, abilities and knowledge requirements


  • Possess strong abilities to create and maintain strong relationships with partners along the lending “chain” (from commercial to risk partners)
  • Have strong commercial expertise
  • Have a high degree of knowledge of Credit Risk fundamentals and a good understanding of the characteristics of the Private Banking credit operations (leveraged, Lombard, mortgage, etc.).
  • Possess strong analytical credit skills
  • Have excellent communication skills both written and orally
  • Have a good knowledge of the banking environment
  • Be self-motivated, autonomous, pro-active and well organized
  • Team player
  • Master of the Microsoft tools (Excel, Word, Powerpoint & Access)
  • Be stress resistant

Language requirements


  • Be native speaker in French, and fluent in Dutch
  • Professional knowledge of English
